This is a nice band out of D.C.
Float me away on your guitar strings.
Lyra Will is the guitar and harrowing voice of Tamara Lunn. Her first album is bittersweet both in structure and the individual songs. Each piece feels like the teetering moment between leaving your past behind and tentatively embracing a new future. The depth of feeling invoked in each word carries through to the finish, when the triumphant We Kissed in Slow Motion takes a decisive baby step forward.
Enjoy,

Michael Rault’s combination of garage psych and groggy pop make me dance – and paired with his self-aware but no-care lyrics, I don’t feel bad about singing along, either. “Lovers Lie” is my pick, but the entire Living Daylight album is worth an easy spin or two (or a thousand).
