It’s an orchid double special today as we get ready for the upcoming weekend.

The first is the album Victoria Park by Fog Lake off of the Orchid Tapes label. Fog Lake AKA Aaron Powell’s solo project drifts through a haze of fuzzy guitar, monotonous drums, and a soft slurred voice that makes you lean in for a closer listen.

The second spotlight is Thomas Nils Howard’s solo project, Orchid Mantis. It’s easy to slip away in the atmosphere of the standout track “Moonflowers”.

TIP: My grandma told me to water orchids with an ice cube. The water releases slowly and does not damage the plant.
